My friend Kim turned me on to this great blog called The Gimp Parade, and I just read this infuriating entry about women with disabilities living in nursing/group homes who are denied access to feminine hygiene products and/or forcibly given birth control treatments to save workers having to deal with a "mess."
I just can't even decide where to begin the rant.

For starters, I'm totally sending them a huge, Costco-sized box of pads. Then, I don't know what I'll do, but it will be something.
That is absolutely horrid! I just assumed that HCBS waivers were available all over the country . . it is so sad that young people have to live in nursing homes, and then to be treated like THAT!! I thought we were past that &*(^ in this country, but I guess not!
Nasty Bastards! What are they thinking. We are sooooooooo lucky to not be in these poor womens place.
